What happens at a Purity for Him support group meeting?
The Group Leader requests members to maintain a notebook, paper or digital, for exercises and review.
MEETING STRUCTURE:
Meetings open with members catching up on life in general.
The group then opens with prayer.
If a new member is attending the Leader and some members group will share their history of sexual addiction and the lowest points of their journey. The purpose of this is to let the new member know we have been where they have been, and done what they have done. Importantly, our sharing shows that we are willing to be vulnerable and that Purity for Him meetings are a safe place. Exposing secrets breaks their power. Brutal honesty is modeled.
Members will begin sharing time. They will provide an uninterrupted update on their week focusing on how consistent they are with the daily habits, any acting out - searching for or looking at images/videos for sexual stimulation or masturbating, sexual temptations, and triggers. No comments or feedback is given unless requested.

Purity for Him Member Agreement
I understand Purity for Him is a sexual addiction support group and should not be used in place of
professional counseling.
I agree I will not share the identities of attendees, or what was said, at Purity for Him meetings. I will not
share the meeting times or locations of the group. I agree the appropriate method of sharing the group
with other men is to refer them to the group leader. I understand maintaining anonymity is critical for
my benefit and the benefit of others in the group. I understand the group leader must share information
regarding unreported crimes of physical harm to another human being, or intent to harm oneself or
another person.
I understand the group leader will not share my identity, or the identity of any other member of the
group, unless given specific permission to do so by the individual.
Sharing time is the member’s opportunity to speak with complete honesty about failures, actions, and
feelings without condemnation. I understand sharing time is not telling long stories about oneself,
blaming others, or complaining about someone else. Sharing time is for a member to get current on the
status of their sobriety. I understand and agree there will be no cross talk during another member’s
sharing time. I will not comment, or offer advice during sharing time, unless the sharing member
requests it. I understand during my sharing time, I will not describe visual images or actions in detail that
may be triggers for others.
I agree and will adhere to the above policies. I understand I may be asked to leave the group for
violating the policies above.
This document must be signed and provided to the group leader prior to the attendance of any Purity
